The alarmingly capable Sukhoi answer to the F-111 tactical bomber. Fencer is a long-range all-weather attack aircraft similar to the F-111 but smaller, lighter, and possessing a better thrust-to-weight ratio. It also carries half of its weapons load under the fuselage rather than under the wings, and analysts agree that the design must afford a remarkably smooth ride at low altitude even at full power. In service since 1975, it can reach Scotland from Eastern Europe.
